SVILUPPO - FILE INFO
With this program you can see and manage all file information (and file itself) inside your Palm (Fig. 1) and your SD / MMC cards (if you have a Palm OS 4.0, like Fig. 2)
When you have a program on a file you can see the information like AppInfo, SortInfo and the database records.
Not only! Now you can manage all SD / MMC expansion cards!!! You can move or copy single PDB or PRC from the SD (MMC, or other expansion card) to your handheld or vice versa!
As you see in fig. 8 there are 6 menu voices:
1. Help: A brief "On Palm" help.
2. About: Display information about our company and version information.
3. File Information: You can get information about a file (entering in window like Fig. 3) if your file is on the handheld. We are planned to get information directly from card in next release. At now, you have first to copy the db (or program) on the handheld.
4. Delete File/Dir: You can delete the file (or directory) currently selected in the list.
5. New Directory: If you have some cards attached, you can create a new directory (only if you have selected tree navigation mode and from actual directory / volume, see after about actual volume / directory). (See fig. 10)
6. Preferecences... Enter and configure option for file info, as shown in fig. 9.
The parameters you can choose are:
Safe Mode: With this mode, you could safely work without risk (sure, you cannot set some attributes, but you are almost sure to make something really dangerous for your device). If you need some higher operation on the device, try to deselect the safe mode. Also, with safe mode you haven't database size, or cannot list record.
Tree Navigation: With this mode, you could see your SD / MMC card in a tree fashion, like an explorer did. With this option selected, you have always a directory / volume selected, shown always higher on the left as you can see in the fig. 10.
In the main windows you have (if you have a Palm OS 4.0 or higher) two pick list from where you can select the source (from) and the target (to) for copy / move operation. As you need, you see always your left selection (Handheld in the figure). The first list (from) have two items already available, while the second list (to) haven't the All item:
1. All (Available only when the Tree Navigation is not selected): mix all cards and handheld files in a single fashion, for your convenience. After that, you could sort for every column you see (Name, Creator, Type).
2. Handheld (Always available): see only handheld RAM files.
... For every card you have: A selection for this card.
After you select (see the window change from fig. 11 to fig. 12) your selection, the list will be reload. You can also order (toggling ascending / descending) putting the pen on a column header (in the fig. 13 we have sorted ascending for a creator). The list are coloured with this kind of color:
1. Black (Normal file on the handheld)
2. Red (File with resource attribute, maybe the file is an "executable" on the handheld or directory when navigating trees).
3. Green (File with copy prevention, hidden or read only attribute on the handheld. If resource db, however, is always red).
4. Blue (File inside SD / MMC)
5. Magenta (File inside SD / MMC with system, hidden or read only)
When you are seeing "card" file you have some special meanings in the creator and type field as shown:
1. Directory are always red with type DIR-
2. File creator is now the attribute of the file (RHSA, stand for Readonly, Hidden, System, Archive). When the file haven't the attribute the letter is substituted with a '-'.
For navigating through directory tree we have inserted a "special" command. When the file listed is a directory you can see PUSH in the creator column. If you push the second column you select the dir AND you ENTER there as shown in fig. 14 - 15. Inside EVERY non-root directory you can see the directory "..". Pushing this "virtual" directory you go in the previous directory.
You have some buttons, too for moving and copying file from / to handheld / cards as specified by two pickup lists. Note: When a card is selected as target and you are in Navigating Tree mode, you always copy / move inside the actual directory (is the field with a red circle in fig. 11).
